This site will look much better in a browser that supports web standards, but it is accessible to any browser or Internet device.
Welcome to the Modern Railwayana website.
The site is very much ‘work in progress’ and by the nature of both the evolving modern railway and the fact that some sections will need considerable research is likely to be forever that way!
Primarily the site will be concerned with traction and rolling stock items from the modern era since the sectorisation of British Rail in the 1980s and the explosion of colour after the years of corporate BR Blue. If this era isn’t your thing, don’t despair, have a look in our sales area where you may find something of interest that is a little bit older!

Another feature has been added to the site. There is now a complete list of Class 37 works numbers matched to actual loco numbers (click the link in the left hand menu). It is intended to enhance this feature to cover lots of other classes in the coming weeks and months as time allows.
